Amazing show got the pleasure of seeing all three of Furthurs MSG shows so far this and all where awesome the set list for this show was relentless song after song help slipknot was awesome bringing out wharf rat and the suite in the first set caught all of us off guard then they came out huge for the 2nd set never letting up really for a late 60s early 70s 2nd set dark star was a little iffy at the beginning other than that amazing show

Pretty Killer show!
Would any one (like me) enjoy hearing John sing Franklin's Tower???? Phil's getting better and better vocally, but some songs I feel he should let John take the vox. I've always thought very few live versions have ever compared to the original blues for allah version; but all due to the vocals; Jerry sang that so beautifully! Regardless, how awesome is this Death Don't Have No Mercy? Furthur's been blowing me away with that tune. Bobby's taking that song to heavy cosmic levels. Couldn't ask for more. Furthur is where it's at.

so, i haven't actually listened to this recording yet, this is a review of the show. IT WAS UNREAL. it was only my 3d show, (all good, gotv), but it was definitely the best one. better than the next night by far. st. stephen was fire! DARK STAR!!! and the gnarliest terrapin i've heard (also it was incredible they played terrapin at all three of my first three shows), live or recorded. must listen.

Worth a listen. I love what Furthur is doing for the music. Can't wait to see them on the recently announced Spring Tour!
Anybody know what happened to the Worcester show from 11/19/10? It seems to be the only one missing at the moment. I would like to hear it again to see if it sounds as good as I remember ;-p
Big thanks to all the tapers out there...

Furthis
Furthur is the real deal. I only caught two Omni shows before Jerry passed. My buddy and I were capping off a summer in Telluride when we got the news. We had a choice, hike the menacing 14ner Mount Wilson or see Merle Sanders live. We chose the Mountain and through great adversity, hailstorms, lightning, in-experience, and instincts we reached the summit and found a capsule. Inside was a climbers log where we promptly dedicated our climb to Jerry. This music is bringing me back to that summer, driving across country with no destination, free, crankin dead tapes til they were burnin hot in my 84 Celica GT Hatchback traversing the continental divide, i think I can...I think I can..damn good times, damn good tunes! Furthis is the shit yall!!!

It's worth it
Never considered getting a real FURTHUR fan. Was overwhelmed of 'my birthday bash' - more or less the same date as Phil... only a few years later... (giggle!). Listen occasionally to some of the shows provided here at the LMA, came closer to it, got convinced by the Red Rocks gigs. Listened to these MSG appearances, found myself drawn 'into the bus'.
Homogeneous jams, funky 'Shakedown St.', breathtaking 'El Paso', positively pathetic 'Terrapin', haunting 'Mountain Song', bright 'Dark Star', cool riding 'Other One', lively meandering 'St Stephen', cocktail party atmospheric 'Eleven', bluesy sermon of 'Death/Mercy', and lucky solution in an inspired radiant 'Franklin's Tower'.
Overall full of light and warmth, virtuosity without obtrusiveness, a group of teamplayers doing a relay in harmony, energy, holding tight and giving room to each other at the same time. Listen to single lines of 'Dark Star', flowing perfectly from one voice to the next, preparing a jazzy version, one of the most interesting manifestations ever of this masterpiece. Or observe how silent the 15 thousand-or-so visitors are during the incredible tenderness of the 'Mountain Song', or...
why ain't you listening for yourself?
It's worth it.

Great Show!
First, is anyone having trouble listening/downloading to Help-> Slipknot on this copy of the show submitted by Tony Suraci. It plays exactly 2 seconds of Help. Guess I'll wait for another copy.
I sat in section 6 floor, 2nd row. Almost dead center. Floor seats are always a good start to a show. The people all around us were having a good time. Plus, the band usually plays their best show at the first show.
To begin a show with three classic 1st set openers was fantastic. I had an idea they might split up Help and Franklins, so Shakedown was a little expected. Jack Straw wasn't. And the sold out crowd was loud. They gave us a breather with El paso, if only Bobby could remember the words. Then right back up with Wharf Rat, great song. I have been wanting to see Rat Dog play Two Djinn, but this is fine with me. Terrapin to close, who could ask for more, really. We were trying to guess if the band was leaving At a Siding->Flyer for the second set, but nope.
The first set ranks high. The band was very tight, good sound, good song selections, good seats. An "epic" show says Dead.net

Get Real
The Greatest show ever at MSG?
Okay.....
And the Giants are the greatest team to ever win a World Series of course because that just happened too, lol.
I suggest you check the archives and listen to:
3/10/81
10/11/83
9/18/90
9/20/90
9/10/91
11/26/02
And as for Furthur being the best post-Dead line-up, I'm very sorry for some of you who say that, but you apparently missed Phil Lesh & Friends from Fall 1999 through 2003, excepting the Summer of 2000 with Robben Ford because this band cannot hold a candle to what Phil was doing then.
The show Saturday was a pretty typical weekend in NYC post-Dead:
Great setlist; as well played as Furthur gets, which isn't quite as good as last December in Oakdale or the Febuary shows I saw (Amhurst & Mohegan Sun), which is disturbing in itself as it was that was in the Summer too. But, how can you go wrong with Dark Star > TOO > St Stephan > 11? Not to mention the beginning & end of the first set? (El Paso & Two Djinn aside).

killer show!!
first time in the Garden, fourth attendance of the latest and gratest post-Jerry Dead band, and our expectations were philled to the brim!
The crowd was immense in both size and presence - what a vibe!
-been aching to hear Mountain Song since it's debut and I got it!!
some were disappointed with it being the second set opener, but I felt blessed and soaked up every minute of it.
-The band played incredibly tight, everyone on stage was on and feelin it . . but Animal, I mean Joe Russo is an absolute machine behind the set! Jaw dropping speed on his solos and fillers, better than two drummers.
been rockin the soundboard since Monday and the drums really shine thru - well worth the purchase!!
Can't wait to see what 2011 brings for Furthur.
30 year old "black guy" from Pennsyltuckey,

Good show
Excellent Wharf Rat, Death, and Franklin's. I found the DS>11 section fun, but not as mind blowing as the next night's creative surprises. Even though the Dark Star was not as deep as I'd like, it was definitely not as scripted and pre-choreographed as earlier versions this year or with Warren. The band took a giant leap forward after Gathering of the Vibes--they are playing the real stuff and I think Jerry would be pleased. Thanks Tony!

So this is what the fabled east coast energy is all about. There was a bit of it on the opening sequence of songs. I thought even the Other One ROCKED (and I've probably heard these guys play an E chord over 5 billion times). "not in the same solar system?" WTF?
Here is what sound spike had to say about the show:
"....between 1979 and 1994, the psychedelic rock and roll outfit graced the stage at New York's Madison Square Garden 52 times."
"But the latest resurrection, Furthur -- with original Dead alumni Phil Lesh and Bob Weir -- played possibly the greatest show ever at MSG on Saturday (11/20). The set list from that recent stop has already garnered feedback of epic proportions on Dead family and fan sites"

Gonna make the mountain be my home
I guess i can say that this is the show that got me back on the bus. Not that it comes close to classic dead, it don't, not even in the same solar system. But it's a dam good attempt and some fine rock and roll.
Being there the opening of set 2 almost turned me off untill i realized they were doing a P.E.R.R.O. tune and then i got goosebumps.
After that the band played "live dead" almost all the way through replacing lovelight with the other one and nixing we bid you good night :)
This was definatly the better show of the 2 and prolly the MVP of the tour.
Terrapin to death don't is really all you need from this night, it brought me back :)
Thanks, this is the first furhtur show that, to me, is worthy of downloading and goin on a CD.

You can download these Flac files, but you cannot play them with common software (like iTunes). You can do a search and find a program that will play them, and maybe you already have. I have used a program called WinAmp for some time now. I have been satisfied with it, though it likes to make itself my default music player and the like. You can get it and be playing this fantastic show in a flash.

This first set got us fired up! I needed El Paso to calm me down a little - but only for a little! Jack Straw brought me back to moving and shaking.
The second set was a bit dissapointing. Although the boys played Dark Star and The Other One - some of my favorites - both songs seemed to fall apart a bit. I enjoyed them, but I've heard them do it better. Jack Straw was excellent, the best I ever heard! I was bummed that they saved Viola Lee Blues for Sunday...
